OVERVIEW            Nurture an online Justice for Immigrants community, create and curate social media content, and develop online direct service opportunities. This position reports to the Director of Immigrant Assistance.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Nurture an online Justice for Immigrants community through creating and leading online opportunities for gathering together including:

·        A closed Facebook group, GroopIt, or other platform for dialogue, support, sharing, and encouraging action.

·        Coordinate and lead JustFaith’s Faith and Immigration Justice and/or similar seminars.

·        Promote and lead virtual immersion trips in coordination with partner agencies.

·        Recruit and lead parishioner participation in opportunities from other organizations such as Seattle Archdiocese, Seattle University, USCCB/MRS/JFI, etc.

·        Look for opportunities for in-person gatherings of large and small groups, triads, and/or pairs.

·        Incorporate other ways to connect online such as cooking demos, socials, music or theater performances, etc.; and explore opportunities for connecting off-line, such as 1:1 phone calls.


Create and curate content on immigrant justice across our social media platforms

·        Craft and distribute weekly Immigration Alerts across platforms.

·        Create Justice for Immigrants social media campaigns.

·        Explore other options such as producing podcasts.


Develop online direct service opportunities that promote community, possibly including:

·        Create a GroopIt community (see nonprofit examples at https://groopit.co/examples) that matches immigrant needs with people able to respond.

·        Recruit and lead a refugee community sponsorship team.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience in areas listed above; knowledge of and experience with immigrant communities, resources, and issues in King County; strong interpersonal skills; organizational skills; literate in Microsoft Office Suite.
