Education Based Housing, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We provide non-clinical supportive services in multi-family and active senior apartment communities with residents

earning low to moderate income. All of our communities are tax credit

properties. We also advocate for safe and affordable housing, while offering resources,

skills, and tools needed to improve self-efficacy, stabilize a positive quality

of life, and build fruitful communities in which residents can access equitable

opportunities to thrive. We achieve this through community partnerships and services

such as transportation, health & nutrition, scholarships, community social

events, character building, financial planning & literacy, scholastic enrichment,

and more!


SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Reports to and works under the general

supervision of the Program Manager who assigns duties and reviews work for

effectiveness according to established work standards.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs various programming  &

administrative support and assistance.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

The duties listed are intended only as illustrative examples of the various types

responsibilities the incumbent may be expected to perform.

-         

Consider and follow Fair Housing

Laws & the seven protect classes (race, color, religion, national origin,

familial status, disability, sex.) while planning/executing programming.



-         

Managing the calendars being

loaded onto the website monthly.



-         

Provides

administrative support as needed.



-         

Act as a floater for events

organization wide as needed.



-         

Proof read & verify flyers

for accuracy/fair housing guidelines.



-         

Coordinate community partner

relations i.e. weekly donation/gifts in kind pick ups & delivery to

appropriate Resident Engagement Specialist, assist in screening potential

community partners.



-         

Maintain aggregated logs i.e.

contribution list



-         

Update organization wide

programming documents i.e. mapping documents, property roster, etc.



-         

Provide staff with event support

for major events as needed.



-         

Be present for outreach events

such as recruitment events for interns & work study students as needed.



-         

Cultivate community partners for

challenging LURA points and passing an overview and contact information along

to appropriate Resident Engagement Specialist.



-         

Prioritize

work according to needs; determine workflow challenge and assist in developing  solutions.



-         

Prepare

and submit budget requests and receipts for program related purchases.



-         

Assist in

the development and implementation of quality assurance/quality improvement

measures for the program.



-         

Regular

attendance and punctuality is a requirement of this position.   

-         

A professional

and courteous manner and an ability to work harmoniously with other employees,

clients and the general public. 



-         

Follow

agency personnel and safety procedures.



-         

Accept and

perform other work as assigned. 



QUALIFICATIONS &

REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent

plus additional specialized training in administration, experience within the

non-profit sector, professional experience/training in social/supportive

services; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which

provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 Ability to interpret program policies and procedures; ability to independently plan, organize and

carry out work assignments; ability to communicate effectively both orally and

in writing; ability to maintain positive professional relationships with other

employees, agencies community partners, leasing staff, and with the residents

Education Based Housing serves; ability to work with information that is both

sensitive and confidential in nature; ability to review the work of others as

assigned. 



SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must pass a criminal background investigation and drug screening.
