Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

· Assists VP of Finance in the day-to-day activities regarding general ledger account reconciliations

· Analysis of balance sheet accounts and prepare account reconciliations; prepare journal entries as needed

· Preparation of bank reconciliations, including reconciling cash receipts in all payment types and monitoring daily bank balances

· Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable general ledger accounts to subledgers

· Maintenance of fixed assets accounts with the ability to analyze, review and calculate depreciation and record entries to the general ledger

· Preparation of trend and variance analysis

· Prepare reports on projects as needed and various income and expenses, including Special Events, consultants and professional services

· Review accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances

· Generates various reports for accounting and other departments

· Assist with cost analysis, fiscal allocation and budget preparation

· Perform internal audits of accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets and revenue recognition

· Responsible for the general ledger interface from payroll service and distribution of bi-weekly payroll to the appropriate general ledger accounts and programs

· Adept at learning new systems used in building financial reports

· Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and follow through independently on tasks and responsibilities

· Display good judgment and discretion regarding sensitive and/or confidential information

· Willingness to handle additional responsibilities and assist the VP of Finance and CFO, as needed


· BA in Accounting

· Minimum of 3-4 years public accounting audit or equivalent experience

· Experience in non-profit a plus

· Strong PC-based computer skills; MS Excel proficiency including pivot tables

· Experienced in accounting principles and practices, including, analyses, reconciliations, collections, and maintenance of financial records

· Ability to read and interpret a wide variety of reports and contracts

· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail

· Exceptional customer service skills

· Demonstrated problem solving skills 

· Ability to set priorities, manage projects and meet deadlines

· Demonstrated commitment to Food Bank’s core values
