Marketing Coordinator

Use your passion for the humanities and higher education to help spread the word about MLA membership, events, and advocacy work. The MLA is looking for an exceptional copywriter with strong data analysis skills and enthusiasm for technology to join our marketing team.

Reporting to the director of outreach, the marketing coordinator will collaborate on strategies and write copy for membership, event-marketing, and fundraising campaigns. You’ll monitor and analyze e-mail marketing and social media campaigns, as well as digital advertising performance, to improve our outreach to members and constituents.

Responsibilities:

·        Write copy for e-mails, landing pages, print and digital advertisements, and social media campaigns

·        Process invoices and track budget for print and digital advertising campaigns

·        Design e-mails in the MLA’s e-mail builder using design system templates

·        Send and track e-mails through our CRM

·        Coordinate campaign calendar with the director and membership marketing team

·        Use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and strong data analysis skills to track conversion rate, revenue, and other key performance indicators and support strategy and planning

·        Stay up-to-date on trends in higher education and association management


Qualifications:

·        At least two years’ experience in communications or marketing, preferably in a higher education or association setting

·        Exceptional copywriting and communication skills

·        Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to manage cross-team projects

·        Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects

·        At least one year of experience working with Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager

·        At least one year of experience with e-mail marketing platforms and CRMs

·        At least one year of experience with content management systems

·        Understanding of best practices for e-mail marketing, social media campaigns, SEO, and web design

·        Bachelor’s degree in a humanities field

Salary is commensurate with experience.
