The Auburn Career Navigator is a one year grant funded position whose primary responsibility is to provide employment preparation, career navigation, and job placement and retention support to low-income job seekers residing in the City of Auburn.

The Auburn Career Navigator will work closely with the YWCA Work$Ready program, including Work$Ready instructors, to provide job readiness and career preparation services to Auburn residents and to assist participants with obtaining employment. Although all Auburn residents are eligible, this position will prioritize resources for communities structurally positioned furthest from opportunity and will center services on the needs and experiences of BIPOC communities within Auburn, especially Black/African-American, Latinx, and refugee/immigrant individuals and families residing in the City of Auburn. Secondary responsibilities include working with the Work$Ready team to recruit, evaluate and screen candidates for program enrollment and assisting students in identifying strengths and overcoming barriers to successful completion of the Work$Ready program and in obtaining employment. This position has a social justice component that will require critical thinking around how the external systems impact the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Knowing the core principals of antiracism work and grounding those principles in everyday work, as well as working well in non-white environments and championing anti-racism policy, are required job skills and core values. 


This position is a hybrid remote work position with both remote work and in-person work required. This includes Firwood Circle, Auburn and remote (virtual services for first 6 months of 2021).
