Grace House Community Centre (GHCC) is a respected local NGO working with 3 local villages situated between Siem Reap and Tonle Sap. GHCC main focus is education, disability and family support. We work with the local community to ensure children have access to education and a healthy life. With a strong emphasis on inclusion our disability programme provides education and therapies to children with special needs in the Siem Reap area. 

GHCC is seeking a Communication Officer to build effective communication, partnerships and fund raising platforms, support volunteers and be an active member of the team. Based at Grace House Community Centre the Communication Officer will have excellent skills in social media/website, networking and fund raising. A passion for inclusion, enabling education for all and a belief in empowering people to reach their full potential. 

Key responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain GHCC website, social media and online fundraising.
  • Support volunteers to maximise their experience and skill sharing prior to their time at GHCC, while at GHCC and maintain relationships after volunteering. 
  • Produce quarterly newsletters and annual report , ensuring supporters are kept updated.
  • Ensure accurate record systems and data bases are in place and maintained, identifying statistics relating to project goals. Produce reports as per grant/donor specifications.
  • Investigate and apply for relevant grants and funding opportunities.
  • Develop fundraising strategy to be approved by the Board of Directors (Cambodia) and UK trustees. Managing existing and research new fundraising opportunities (individual and corporate donors, partnerships, grants, events, and campaigns)
  • Generating enough yearly funds to cover operational costs.
  • Represent GHCC at local and national networking events.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with local and international NGOs, businesses, schools and universities. 
  • With Project Manager ensure financial recording is accurate and reconciled.
  • Report monthly to Grace House Cambodia Trust. 
  • Assist other staff members with effective communications, data bases, emails and report writing.

Requirements 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with other staff members, volunteers, donors, grant givers and supporters.
  • Good understanding of data bases and record keeping
  • At least 3 years experience in communications, marketing and fundraising.
  • An understanding and good track record of writing grant proposals.
  • An understanding of development issues, previous knowledge of Cambodia would be an advantage.
  • A strong belief in inclusion and promoting disability and education. 
  • A good understanding of Child Protection and Safeguarding
  • Proven ability in MS Office, social media platforms, Mailchimp 
  • Fluent written and spoken English, spoken Khmer an advantage but not necessary.
