About St. Stephen’s

St. Stephen and the Incarnation is a multi-cultural and bilingual parish located in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC. We are an open and growing Episcopal church with roots in social justice and the movement for more inclusiveness. Our building is home to a dozen non-profit organizations and frequently offers hospitality to visiting social justice groups. We draw strength from our great diversity of backgrounds and callings.

Children are an integral part of our ministry and a growing segment of our parishioners. In recent years, we have expanded and deepened our children’s ministry and are delighted to welcome a growing number of families to the parish. Our 10:30am congregation uses a babysitter for children ages 0-3, a Godly Play curriculum for ages 3-8, and a Connect curriculum for children 9 and older. We encourage children ages 10 and older to be trained to assist in the worship service as acolytes.
