The Corporate Giving Officer manages a portfolio of corporate relationships representing a diverse cross-section of companies located in Philadelphia, Montgomery and/or Delaware counties. Primary responsibilities include year-round relationship management (identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship), assessing and developing corporate interest in UWGPSNJ’s work; identifying new prospects and/or opportunities for increased funding; and effectively communicating about UWGPSNJ’s mission and various investment offerings, including the Impact Fund, Social Venture Partners and The Promise. In addition to ensuring the retention of existing corporate support, the Giving Officer will also help manage a subset of workplace-based employee giving campaigns and a small group of major donors (donors giving $10,000 or more annually) within the same corporate portfolio. The Giving Officer is a member of a five-person team and will be required to work closely and collaboratively with other Giving Officers, Giving Associates, the Grants Officer, and other members of the Giving and Mission Delivery Departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Manage a portfolio of 30-50 corporate accounts to ensure retention of current corporate giving, develop a pipeline for increased and/or new corporate relationships, and oversee a subset of workplace giving campaigns (65%).

·        Develop clear and customized strategies and moves management to ensure effective year-round stewardship, cultivation, and stewardship to meet portfolio revenue goals (up to $1M-2M) annually through both workplace campaigns and corporate donations).

·        Must be able to comfortably communicate with corporate leaders and managers at all levels, with professionalism and effectiveness whether virtually or in-person. 

·        Oversee the management of ~50 workplace giving campaigns from planning through execution, supporting campaign events with speakers, and providing communications materials and customized analytic reports where appropriate. Requires working closely with Giving Associates and members of the Pledge Processing team.

·        Persuasively communicate UWGPSNJ’s value proposition for each offering (Impact Fund, SVP, The Promise) in both written communication and during in-person presentations to key corporate partners and new prospects.

·        Refer corporate partners to appropriate volunteer engagement activities.

·        Provide support to the Lead, Corporate Partnerships and other UWGPSNJ leadership (e.g., CEO, Regional and Local Board Members) to advance corporate strategy and solicitation, including research, correspondence, proposals, and follow-up on all donor relations activities.

·        Help develop virtual events and in-person activities designed to engage corporate donors, and other general duties as assigned to ensure the success of the Corporate Team and the overall Giving Department.

·        Maintain meticulous records of all key interactions and execution of strategy in the CRM.

2.     Manage a portfolio of major donors connected to the corporate portfolio and employee giving campaigns (35%).

·        In collaboration and with the support of the major gifts team, plan, implement, and manage effective and creative acquisition, retention, and stewardship strategies designed to engage a small and targeted group of donors giving $10,000 or more and cultivate increased giving from prospective donors.

·        Assist with major donor recognition and fundraising events as needed.

·        Maintain meticulous records of all key interactions and execution of strategy in the CRM.

BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

·        Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience preferred

·        Four or more years’ experience with nonprofit development and volunteer engagement, either in corporate or major gifts fundraising

·        Motivated, highly organized, self-starter who is comfortable working closely and collaboratively with a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders internally and externally.

·        Ability to work under the pressure of tight deadlines and to effectively manage, organize and prioritize projects and workload with attention to detail and strong follow-through

·        Must be able to problem-solve and be proactive, goal-driven and focused on results

·        Demonstrated ability to develop subject matter expertise in a nonprofit and serve as an effective ambassador in the community. Dedicated to the goals and mission of United Way.

·        Strong strategic and analytic thinker, with excellent written and verbal communication (presentation) skills

·        Excellent attention to detail and experience with maintaining a CRM/relationship database

·        Excellent skills in Excel and PowerPoint

·        Valid driver’s license & insurance and/or reliable transportation required for out-of-office travel as required by the position.
