Department: Homeownership and Neighborhood Programs

Supervisor: Homeownership Program Manager

Status: Hourly/Full Time

Position Overview

The Homeownership Program Coordinator will work directly with Habitat homebuyers ensuring that they make a successful transition to homeownership.  This role will also conduct outreach and recruitment for the Homeownership Program and support the Homeownership Program Manager with the selection of new homebuyers.

 

Homebuyer selection and outreach

·        Develop and implement an annual Homeownership Program outreach plan. 

·        Coordinate all outreach opportunities including tabling at events and presentations.

·        Update and maintain the homeownership program mailing list. 

·        Respond to inquiries from potential applicants regarding the selection process and homeownership programs.

·        Act as first point of contact for all Homeownership Program applicants. 

·        Support applicants through homebuyer application process and refer them to relevant partners or resources. 

·        Support the Homeownership Program Manager in the homeowner application and selection process including application processing and assisting with all workshops, trainings and meetings.

·        Assist Homeownership Program Manager with all follow-up communication on homeowner applications.

 

Homebuyer support

·        Provide continuing support to Habitat homebuyers including assisting with the design and administration of meetings, events, and programs that support a successful transition to homeownership.

·        Schedule homebuyers to complete sweat equity on site, at the ReStores and at the Habitat office.

·        Send monthly sweat equity reports and completion certificates to homebuyers.

·        Coordinate with the Volunteer and Construction Departments regarding homebuyer volunteer opportunities at active build sites.

·        Maintain monthly engagement with all homebuyers through mailings, texts, emails and meetings.

·        Manage the logistics of the homeowner pre-purchase education program including schedule of trainings, location of classes, and coordination of guest presenters.

·        Assist with homebuyer orientation meetings, individual meeting and Family Build Days.

·        Coordinate interior option selection with homebuyers and the Construction Department.

·        Create and sustain strong working partnerships with other members of the team and contribute to Habitat’s culture of teamwork and collaboration.

·        Other duties as assigned by the Homeownership Program Manager.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

·        GED or High School diploma

·        One year of experience working with people of low/moderate incomes from diverse backgrounds in a social service or housing organization.

·        Commitment to serving families and individuals with low-incomes and advancing the critical call for affordable homeownership.

·        Bachelor’s degree preferred

·        Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills and the ability to think strategically.

·        Ability to effectively work with, manage, and lead volunteers. 

·        Excel at multi-tasking with various projects and deadlines; attention to detail a must.

·        Comfortable working in a collaborative environment, as part of a team as well as independently.

·        Excellent written and oral communication skills, effective with diverse audiences.

·        Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced, open, team-oriented, business casual office.

·        Able to work nights and weekends as necessary.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

·        Verbal fluency in Vietnamese, Burmese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, or Amharic.

·        Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRMs.

·        Knowledge of area social services and community resources.
