POSITION SUMMARY: YouthCare is seeking an experienced Director of Communications & Marketing to build and drive our agency’s Communications strategy in support of our mission to help all youth live full lives and achieve their potential. We are looking for an adept story-teller and systems-builder who can develop, implement, and support a multi-channel Communications plan to share our programmatic impact and systems change efforts. The Director of Communications & Marketing will work closely with key team members to share youth stories through various communication platforms to educate donors, and inspire the community to give, get involved, and take action to end youth homelessness.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and support a multi-channel strategic Communications plan in support of agency mission
  • Oversee including message development, social media, website management, and media management
  • Ensure agency Communications are in alignment with YouthCare’s mission, vision, values and theory of change
  • Develop compelling content and stories of impact through a youth-focused and social justice lens
  • Develop video and new media content in support of annual luncheon and other development and agency activities
  • Create marketing strategies that promote agency programs and mission and increase visibility
  • Define strategies to effectively identify, engage, and grow target audience(s)
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Develop, manage and maintain annual Communication budget
  • Steward and manage YouthCare brand and style guidelines
  • Oversee production of agency promotional materials including e-news, print newsletter, annual report, and event collateral
  • Analyze data and trends to optimize web and social media presence 
  • Develop press releases for agency partnerships, announcements, and related activities
  • Work closely with external PR firm to build engagement with the community
  • Work closely with graphic designer to executive collateral production and key projects
  • Work closely with Executive Team and Board of Directors in support of external relations activities
  • Support Executive Team members (e.g. media engagement, public speaking).
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports as needed

LEADERSHIP:

  • Serve as agency leader in all aspects of Communications as member of the Senior Leadership Team
  • Manage Communications & Social Media Manager
  • Provide strategic vision for YouthCare’s Communications and messaging to inform the public about YouthCare’s work and ensure for diversity in content and voices in alignment with our agency mission.
