NAF’s educational design ignites students’ passion for learning and gives businesses the opportunity to shape America’s future workforce by transforming the learning environment to include STEM infused industry-specific curricula and work-based learning experiences, including internships.
Since 1980, NAF has been partnering with high-need communities to improve outcomes for students by implementing NAF academies – small learning communities within existing high schools. NAF has grown from one NAF Academy of Finance in New York City to hundreds of academies across the country focusing on growing industries including: finance, hospitality & tourism, information technology, engineering, and health sciences. During the 2020-2021 school year, over 117,000 students attended 619 NAF academies across 37 states, plus DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands. In 2020, NAF academies reported 99% of seniors graduated with 87% of graduates planning to go to college.
Summary:
The Communications Coordinator will have a critical role in NAF’s Marketing & Communications efforts. They will support media outreach efforts of NAF’s PR firm and will engage in media monitoring and reporting to publicize NAF’s work and measure success of outreach efforts. This position includes storytelling and editorial responsibilities, such as writing, editing, and posting content for NAF’s blog, writing various article and guest author opportunities, scripts, messaging, print materials, and other publications, and creating and maintaining NAF’s editorial calendar.
The achievements of the Communications Coordinator will strengthen NAF’s brand, while increasing the opportunities available for high school students across the United States in under-invested communities, as well as amplifying our DEI priorities. This position is a member of the Marketing & Communications team and works cross-functionally with other teams at NAF.
This position can be remote or based at NAF’s New York City headquarters. However, all NAF staff are currently working from home until further notice.

Educational/Training Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred
