Mycelium Youth Network (MYN) prepares youth in the Bay Area for a climate challenged future. We merge ancestral traditions that emphasize youth environmental stewardship and relationship building alongside rigorous STEAM curriculum that focuses on practical hands-on skills for climate resilience and mitigation that youth create and implement in their homes and local communities. We empower youth to grow as visionary leaders and budding environmentalists, connect with ancestral teachings, and trust in the wisdom of the natural world.
About the position
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Social Media & Communication Coordinator will provide communication support to ensure efficient operation of the organization. The position will support our programming and organization through a variety of tasks related to social media and communication, including creating written and visual content for our social media channels (Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook).
Our ideal candidate:
Our ideal candidate has a passion for social justice and racial equity, and experience working within nonprofit organizations. They are an effective communicator, fluent in the language of social media, highly organized, and have experience producing high quality work, sometimes with quick turnaround. They are able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish tasks and projects, and are creative in their problem solving.
