Jewish Currents is seeking a Managing Director to join our management team. Our organization requires a self-motivated individual with superb organizational and writing skills, and the ability to work independently and collegially with a dedicated small staff commitment to the mission of the organization. This is a management position, but the job requires a significant amount of direct hands-on activity. We need someone who is a thinker, planner, and doer, in near-equal ratios.
The Managing Director reports to the Publisher, and directly supervises the Operations Manager and other staffing to be hired. The Managing Director will be expected to directly assist both the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief and assume important responsibilities that, hitherto, have been the responsibility of those two positions. As such, an applicant must have a proven multi-layered set of skills, including organizational management team, board and funder relationships, and building the breadth, scope and visibility of Jewish Currents.
