Job Purpose

Lead successful execution of MHAMD’s public education, training and outreach program goals.  Support strategic planning and growth for the department overall. Assist program leads with developing Key Performance Indicators and developing skills and tools to manage for meeting targets. Scope of work will include program oversight of Mental Health First Aid, Children’s Mental Health Campaign, Older Adults and Consumer Quality Team as outlined by Chief Program Officer.   Ensure all education, outreach and programming are effective and efficient and use data to support continuous quality improvement. Utilize data driven thinking to support the department to move to demonstrating impact. Supervise program staff and collaborate with all departments to leverage potential synergies.   

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that each of the program areas is setting and achieving KPIs
  • Build and maintain structure and systems for effective grants management designed to demonstrate success in meeting grant deliverables as well as producing other desired results. 
  • Develop tools as well as use existing tools to ensure grant compliance and accountability.
  • Responsible for ensuring completion and submission of timely and accurate grant reports, records management, and collaboration with program and fiscal staff in the completion of these functions.
  • Proactively problem solve all risk management issues using variance tools and other risk management assessments.
  • Work with Programs team to support translating an award to a project plan and ensure successful implementation and effective monitoring
  • Assist with budget formulation (fiscal collaboration)
  • Assist with creating plan for raising additional revenue for this department (fundraising)
  • Work with Programs Team and Communications team to develop materials and web content for all programs (marketing and communications)
  • Ensure program data is collected, monitored and disseminated (data)
  • Supervise team and assist in the development of building team competencies
  • Establish and maintain community partnerships when appropriate
  • Publicly represent MHAMD and staff internal and/or external committees as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong grants management experience from award through summary reports, including proposal development as well as ensuring effective results through planning, monitoring, supervising work products and individuals
  • Understand what constitutes financial and program risk as it relates to a grant, and the ability to proactively problem solve
  • Be knowledgeable about grant terms and compliance issues
  • Ability to support the translation of an award to a project plan and ensure effective monitoring
  • Possess competency in grants and contracts management
  • Experience with aligning marketing and communications plan to work plans
  • Knowledge of how to use data to inform programming and decision making
  • Demonstrate sound financial management knowledge
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in developing, implementing, and managing programs
  • Managerial experience including staff supervision, budgetary oversight, and grants management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent training, oral and written communication skills
  • Grant writing and other fundraising experience 
  • Experience with research initiatives desirable
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work with and motivate diverse groups of individuals
  • Knowledge of and interest in mental health issues required
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred

Position Classification

Full time, exempt

General Conditions

  • Monday through Friday 8:30am to 5pm
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Evening and weekend work will be required
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at times
  • Standing for extended periods of times

Travel Requirement

Periodic but limited travel may be required
