    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Associate Director will assume primary responsibility for overseeing and organizing all part-time college classes, with the exception of the Clemente Course in the Humanities. The Associate Director and Program Director will lend each other their support at crucial times of the year, and work together to coordinate all The Care Center’s part-time college offerings. The successful candidate will be a dedicated, dynamic and skilled educator who is committed to The Care Center's mission and values.

    Qualifications: 

    • You believe in The Care Center’s mission and values and are committed to supporting the communities we serve 
    • Experience teaching at the college level 
    • Experience teaching in community settings with adult learners
    • Demonstrated ability and desire to work in a diverse, multicultural environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
    • Training in trauma-informed pedagogy and equity and inclusion in the classroom, strongly preferred
    • A terminal degree in the humanities required (MFA or PhD)
    • Valid license and clean driving record required
    • Proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred

    Location and Schedule:

    The Care Center is located at 247 Cabot Street in Holyoke. This is a part-time, benefited position for 24 hours per week, with a potential increase in hours (and salary) during the months of January and February. General work hours are in-person Monday through Thursday from 9:30am-3:30pm, with some flexibility (including occasionally Friday meetings) required.

    The Care Center is committed to equitable pay and work/life balance. Benefits include substantial vacation time; 2 weeks of paid office closure; 70% employer paid health insurance; 100% of life and disability insurance; and a 401(k) employer contribution and match. The salary for this part-time position is between $40,000-$45,000 per year.
