Role

The VP of Development is a new role at USRowing as we launch a fundraising team within the organization for the first time in our history. This intrepid leader will need to bring extensive development experience to the table as well as proven management success, and a readiness to create a new and invaluable function for the organization in partnership with the CEO.

Responsibilities

  • Hire a small team of development staff
  • Create and oversee a comprehensive fundraising plan with pipelines and action plans
  • for each revenue stream (govt, foundations, events, sponsors, and individuals)
  • Launch and oversee multiple fundraising campaigns from row-a-thons to an annual gala,
  • small prospect dinners, and virtual events
  • Actively ID and steward new and current supporters of USRowing
  • Create development systems and functions to track donations from receipt to
  • acknowledgement through ongoing stewardship
  • Work closely with marketing team to develop engaging fundraising materials

Qualifications

  • BA (required)
  • 7+ years of experience in development
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Salesforce a plus
  • Rowing experience a plus, but not required
  • Sense of humor
