The Bretton Woods Committee is the preeminent non-profit organization dedicated to effective international economic and financial cooperation.

Towards this end, we demonstrate the value of multilateralism and improve the performance of the international financial institutions (IFIs) through public dialogue, advocacy and policy analysis.

Our mission is supported by:

  • A diverse, global membership of leaders from business, finance, government and academia who are an unparalleled source of ideas and expertise.
  • We are an independent, non-partisan advocate for the key multilateral institutions. We help inform public officials that global economic prosperity is best served through effective multilateralism.
  • We convene flagship conferences on the most critical economic and financial topics. These serve as important fora for dialogue and debate between BWC members, senior policymakers, multilateral officials, private sector leaders and prominent academics.
  • Working groups that organize roundtables, seminars, conferences, and other events to analyze and make policy recommendations on emerging issues impacting the future of finance, trade and global development.
  • Special projects that produce reports and publications with unbiased analysis and policy prescriptions on ways in which the multilateral system – and the institutions that comprise it – can be strengthened and made more effective.

The Committee is in the process of launching several thematic Working Groups that will comprise experts from Committee leadership and membership. Working Groups will conduct analyses, make policy recommendations, and otherwise contribute to public dialogue on their focus issue. For instance, BWC’s Sovereign Debt Working Group recently launched its first publication.

The Program Associate supports the planning and implementation of the annual program calendar, including creation and execution of the Committee’s flagship conferences, roundtables, virtual conferences, and other types of seminars and events, as well as Congressional outreach/legislative efforts. The Program Associate will also provide organizational and logistical support to Working Groups.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the conceptualization, planning and execution of Committee programs and events, including developing program ideas, drafting contextual and promotional materials, creating speaker outreach and preparatory materials, and providing logistical support.
  • Provide organizational and logistical support to BWC Working Groups, including supporting the development and release of publications, preparing and updating workplans/timelines, responding to Working Group member requests, and scheduling.
  • Track, research and create background materials for senior Committee staff on key issues, institutions, and leaders in international trade, finance, and development to inform program conceptualization and development. Track and report on relevant U.S. legislation as it pertains to the work of the Committee to inform Committee’s Congressional strategy.
  • Manage the Committee’s digital communication strategy. Assist in the preparation of the Committee’s internal and external communication tools including its quarterly newsletter and other communications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in international relations economics, finance, development, political science, or related field. Advanced degree is desirable.

  • 2-3 years of previous office experience.
  • A healthy awareness of global finance, trade, and development topics.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Experience working with senior officials and executives while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • A self-driven nature and demonstrated ability to multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills in English. Additional language skills a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS-Office and social media.
