Based in East Harlem, two long-standing and well-regarded harm reduction organizations in New York City are seeking a Drop In Center Manager. The non-profits, the process of completing a merger, are innovative organizations serving low-income people who use drugs and other marginalized individuals. The wide range of mobile and center-based services are delivered by upwards of 80 staff and peer workers, and include syringe access, overdose prevention, public health, care coordination, medical care, holistic, peer education, and advocacy services. The organizations have a combined $7 million budget made up of mainly government grants.
The Drop In Center Manager (DICM) is a detail oriented and compassionate individual who cares about the wellbeing of every participant coming through NYHRE’s doors. The DICM demonstrates exceptional skills in working with marginalized population and shows reliable creativity and skills in de-escalation, management of people, and systems. The DICM works supervises the DIC team and works with the Clinic / HUB team to ensure that there is a calm flow of participants in the DIC and that every participant receives the services that they need in a timely fashion. Those services include harm reduction supplies (syringes, smoking kits, safer sex kits, narcan kits, etc), medical services, coffee, tea, food, bathroom, shower, laundry, and respite.
Hours: Full-time, M-F 12:30pm-8:30pm
