About PrEP4All: 

PrEP4All is a community-based activist organization aimed at increasing access to HIV prevention. Founded in 2018, we work to ensure that the most vulnerable individuals can access HIV prevention and treatment regardless of their race, gender, socioeconomic status, or geographic location. By working with community members, public health experts, and government officials, we craft rigorous policy solutions and pressure the federal government to ensure that everyone gets the HIV care they need, with the goal of reducing new HIV infections in the United States to zero.

In 2020, PrEP4All expanded its work to include access to COVID-19 vaccines and treatments.


Job Description:

PrEP4All is seeking a creative, driven, and hands-on Communications Manager. This new position will be responsible for developing a comprehensive communications strategy to publicize and amplify the organization’s work across all channels, including social media, e-blasts, press, publications, and webinars. They will also work to develop PrEP4All’s unique brand and assist in fundraising communications.

Strong candidates will have experience managing communications for advocacy and activist organizations with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders including community members, scientists, and government officials. A passion for PrEP4All’s mission is a must.

The Manager will report to the Managing Director, Advocacy & Organizing but will work closely with all Managing Directors at various times.


Roles & Responsibilities:

Strategy

  • Develop a strategic approach to advancing policy, advocacy, and fundraising objectives across various communications channels
  • Create and manage a schedule of regular communications across social media channels, e-blasts, and website updates
  • Operationalize a system for promoting policy and advocacy work-product to reporters, allied organizations, listservs, and donors
  • Build and manage a social media strategy and voice aimed at increasing reach and engagement across all platforms
  • Assist in developing calls-to-action and disseminating them through PrEP4All’s online marketing platforms (Squarespace Email Campaigns and ActionNetwork)
  • Develop a streamlined process for pitching earned media stories for frequently occurring work-product like sign-on letters and publications

Execution

  • Write copy such as press releases, social media posts, statements, e-blasts, and more to amplify PrEP4All’s work to the public
  • Assist in drafting advocacy materials such as talking points, sign-on letters, and briefs
  • Plan and execute the launch of publications, sign-on letters, and other various work-product
  • Build and maintain relationships with reporters to cultivate earned media
  • Assist in pitching stories to media outlets like the New York Times, The Washington Post, and NPR, among others
  • Manage PrEP4Alls various mailing lists; develop a process for segmenting these lists and targeted communication
  • Maintain PrEP4All’s website and regularly update content
  • Organize the technical functions for webinars, digital marketing, and social media
  • Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, and designers as needed
  • Design and deploy graphics for webinars, social media, fundraising events, and publications
  • Standardize templates for press releases, announcements, statements, and more
  • Update and maintain PrEP4All’s style guide and consistency across PrEP4All communications
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in Communications for an advocacy organization (experience working in public health advocacy a strong plus)
  • Strong track record of using communications to advance advocacy and community engagement
  • Ability to develop big picture strategy and implement that strategy
  • Ability to work collaboratively, including strong interpersonal and networking skills; (relationships with traditional media outlets a plus)
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to balance competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-moving, dynamic work environment
  • Superb organization skills, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving capacity
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about new, technical subject matters
  • Strong sense of how to represent an organization’s unique brand through voice and visuals is a must
  • Experience developing publications, managing organizational social media channels, and working with online marketing software 
  • Passion for PrEP4All’s mission is a must


Location & Hours

As a fully remote organization, PrEP4All encourages candidates based anywhere in the United States to apply so long as they can work within PrEP4All’s office hours (9am-5pm ET). This is a full-time, exempt position; work on evenings and weekends may be required. PrEP4All cannot offer visa support; only candidates with existing authorization to work in the U.S. will be eligible. Occasional travel throughout the United States via car, train, or plane will be expected;  international travel is anticipated, albeit rarely.
