The Media Director or Media Minister is the director of communications for San Francisco Night Ministry (www.sfnightministry.org). The Media Minister serves in a “ministry of awareness” connecting the Night Ministry with our communities, organizations, foundations, and grant-makers; connecting supporters and donors – actual or potential – with the people we serve; connecting supporters, partners, and donors with each other; and connecting the privileged and the marginalized residents of San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

The Media Director/Minister facilitates interfaith connections, connections with social services agencies, social justice actions, and social media and virtual connections of all kinds. The Media Minister is also responsible for creatively promoting Night Ministry, ensuring brand and messaging consistency across all platforms, interfacing with media of all kinds, and ensuring a high quality of ministry in the digital age.

This is a part-time salaried employee position, averaging 15 hours per week, with four weeks personal time off annually. The pay is $2,000 per month. We do not offer other benefits, though clergy filling the roll can receive a parsonage/housing allowance for tax purposes. Strong preference for a person living in the Bay Area.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Media:

 ·   Maintain Night Ministry’s website and all social media pages, groups, and platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn.

·   Oversee the design and distribution of our weekly eblast newsletter to all donors, subscribers, volunteers, and partners.

·   Help to maintain subscription lists and databases of all kinds.

·   Create regular website news or blog posts.

·   Oversee print solicitations, including design, content, and mailing, working in collaboration with the Executive Director and contractors.

·   Post social media content at least three times weekly across platforms.

·   Create unique and engaging content in coordination with all Night Ministry staff, volunteers, supporters, and students.

·   Create promotions for fundraisers, events, and online auctions.

·   Create flyers, promotions, advertising, Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and the like.

Website & Logo:

·   Collaborate with all directors to solicit media content and obtain proper consent.


Events / Development:

·   Support the Executive Director, Governing Board, and volunteers in event planning and execution.

·   Create all media campaigns and event promotions.

·   Support online auctions with creative content posts and promotions.


Administration & Facilities:

·   Attending periodic staff or student meetings and, when directed by the ED, attend and report at Governing Board meetings.

·   Supervise all assigned contractors, such as contractors engaged in print and social media and website development and advertising.

·   Oversee all analytics and digital data collection for marketing or grant purposes, including Facebook Pixels and Google Analytics.

 

Qualifications:

•      Significant education and experience in media

•      Regular engagement in various social media

•      Comfort in digital spaces, learning new tech and platforms

•      Experience in development and fundraising

•      Experience in event planning and execution

•      Good communication and collaboration

•      Timely and time management skills

 

Preferred, but Not Required:

•      SF Bay Area location

•      Ordained or commissioned in a spiritual tradition
