Online Leadership Instructor

The Civic Education Project, a leadership and civic engagement program at Northwestern University, is now hiring exceptional Instructors for our Online Leadership Intensive courses this Summer.

Engage a class of 12-18 outstanding middle or high school students from around the country as they examine traits and practices of leadership, assess their personal strengths and style, and build their potential as leaders.

Inspire students to consider their leadership capacity and role in making change through thoughtful reflection and dialogue in over ten interdisciplinary course topics including Raise Your Voice, Women In Leadership, The Healthcare Crisis, Global Leadership, Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship and more.

Expand your knowledge and skills in online instruction and tap into a nationwide community of top-tier practitioners and educators.

Who We Look For While specific qualifications vary by position, instructional staff generally possess the following experience and skills:

• Experience in online teaching, interdisciplinary instruction, differentiation, & student assessment
• Background in English/Language Arts, STEM, Business, or Humanities/Social Science disciplines
• Excellent communication & organizational skills
• Experience with current online teaching platforms including; Schoology, Zoom, Adobe Connect and other Web 2.0 tools

Leadership Intensive courses are offered in skill-building, leadership practices, and deep dive topic areas for students grades 7-10. Courses are offered in 2-week sessions, with live online class meetings Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings CST.

CEP instructional staff come from a variety of backgrounds, including: outstanding teachers from public and private schools and universities; and education, nonprofit, and youth development professionals.
