Position Description

The ANY Partner Fellows Program at LaGuardia Community College is our first campus-based program, which launched in September 2017. The LaGuardia Program Manager will deliver 18 professional development workshops over the course of two years to roughly 100 LaGuardia Fellows (ambitious, first-generation college students) ad their Mentor Coaches (accomplished young professionals). The LaGuardia Program Manager, with the support of the National Program and Operations Team, will implement a best-in-class curriculum, provide holistic support to Fellows and Mentor Coaches, and assist in recruiting a new cohort of 50 Fellows and Mentor Coaches each year.

As Program Manager, you will serve as the main point of contact for a cohort of 50 Fellows and Mentor Coaches and manage a second ANY staff member, the LaGuardia Program Coordinator. From your office within LaGuardia’s Center for Career and Professional Development, you will provide holistic support to Fellows, including counseling through personal, academic, and professional challenges, and help to source and secure internships; additionally, you will support Mentor Coaches through the mentoring relationship and leverage Mentor Coaches’ strengths and talents to maximize program effectiveness. The ideal candidate will thrive in start-up environments, have experience providing case management or academic/career advisement to college-aged students, will be highly organized, and enjoy public speaking, event planning, multi-tasking, and team collaboration.



  • Lead the recruitment and selection of new Fellows and Mentor Coaches in collaboration with ANY’s National Program and Operations Team and LaGuardia Community College’s Center for Career and Professional Development
  • Execute 12 annual Saturday workshops, from registration and set-up to delivery of content through large and small-group facilitation
  •  Supervise the LaGuardia Program Coordinator to effectively co-deliver ANY workshops, serve as Lead to a cohort of Fellows and Mentor Coaches, and provide ongoing case management
  • Execute special events, such as social events, interview days, and recruitment sessions
  • Establish and cultivate relationships within LaGuardia’s community to create a positive presence on campus, increase collaboration, and promote future recruitment efforts
  • Provide holistic support to Fellows on a variety of topics, including:
  • Transfer advisement, helping students prepare to transfer from community colleges to bachelor-degree granting school
  • Professional development, including successfully building and maintaining professional relationships and obtaining internships
  • Personal issues, including crisis prevention and intervention, confidence-building, and interpersonal coaching
  • Academic advisement, such as study skills, time management, and leveraging on-campus resources
  • Source internship opportunities, potential volunteers, and connect Fellows to community resources through management of strategic partnerships
  • Assist in the marketing the program to key constituents, ensuring the website, social media accounts, and collateral materials are current and engaging
  • Support Fellows’ and Mentor Coaches’ program performance through data entry and analysis, including tracking program standing, attendance, and retention, and supporting relationship development
  • Additional projects and duties as determined by the National Program and Operations team


  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • Ability to work independently to launch a new program site, with remote support from national staff
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, data-driven environment with a start-up feel
  • Experience providing case management to adolescents and/or academic/career/financial aid advisement to college students
  • Event planning and execution experience
  • Superb public speaking and facilitation skills
  • Experience teaching or training youth and adults
  • Outstanding relationship management skills and ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including college students, volunteers, university partners, and corporate supporters/internship providers
  • Detailed-oriented and able to multi-task
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong listening and mediation skills, with a high level of empathy and ability to create a culture of accountability
  • Seeks continuous improvement and feedback
  • As ANY workshops are held on Saturdays, this position will require flexibility and willingness to work nontraditional work hours
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

  • Experience working with college-aged youth preferred; knowledge of first-generation population is a plus
