 Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

 Summary: Hopelink provides vital resources to people experiencing financial instability in our community. The Outreach Coordinator helps connect people to Hopelink’s services by providing resources and information and identifying and addressing accessibility issues. The Outreach Coordinator provides leadership to the Outreach Committee and develops an annual outreach plan that is equitable and inclusive of the diverse populations Hopelink serves. The Outreach Coordinator also works on “in-reach” for Hopelink employees—promoting access to services and working with the Director of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion on Employee Resource Groups (ERG), including and ERG for Latinx/Hispanic colleagues. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, resourceful, possess strong self-awareness and relationship-building skills, and have a passion for making an impact in the community 


Essential Functions: 

·        Provides staff support for Hopelink’s Community Services Outreach Committee including planning and facilitating meetings, assisting with project implementation, developing needs assessment and outreach plans, and providing administrative support.

·        Designs and implements specific outreach strategies to improve access to Hopelink services to Latinx/Hispanic individuals as well as other communities experiencing barriers to access.

·        Partners with staff members to help address barriers to service accessibility.

·        Oversees implementation of the Outreach Committee’s annual outreach plan which includes developing outreach targets, strategies for achieving those targets, and achievement measures. Collects and compiles statistical data on outreach targets as well as outreach activities using Microsoft Excel, Forms, and other software tools.

·        Working with the Outreach Committee and Communications team, ensures that the needs of diverse populations are met in outreach planning, strategies, and outreach tools.

·        Develops and helps maintain relationships with key community partners and stakeholders—including planning and hosting partner-outreach events.

·        Initiates and responds to requests for Hopelink’s participation in community outreach events.

·        Organizes and maintains distribution system for outreach materials including brochures, flyers, and tabling kits. Works with Outreach Committee members and Community Services programs to revise and update program materials.

·        Maintains and distributes “in-reach” materials about Hopelink program and service eligibility and enrollment for staff.

·        Supports the Director of Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion on Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), including an ERG for Latinx/Hispanic staff.

·        Communicates respectfully with people regardless of age, race, gender, religion, color, national origin, marital status, the presence of any physical, sensory, or mental disability, sexual orientation, political ideology, gender identity, military status, genetic information, or any other expression of diversity.

·        Maintains a professional and positive working relationship with clients, vendors, volunteers, donors, and fellow staff and adheres to the Hopelink Community Guidelines.


Required Qualifications: 

·        Bilingual in English/Spanish. Lived/living experience with Hispanic/Latinx individuals and communities.

·        Knowledge and experience with outreach methods and strategies.

·        Strong leadership skills with a talent for building professional relationships and the ability to work collaboratively on projects.

·        Experience working with diverse communities, preferably low-income, older adults, people with disabilities, immigrants, refugees, youth, and/or veterans.

·        Exceptional communication skills, including familiarity with business writing, meeting facilitation, and presentations.

·        Intermediate and above competency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.

·        Strong organizational and time management skills.

·        Strong planning and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and/or military service.

·        Experience with data collection and analysis.

·        Experience collecting and analyzing data, defining problems, identifying potential solutions, developing implementation strategies, and evaluating outcomes.

·        Experience in social services or a community-based organization.

·        Skilled in effective project planning and project management.

·        Skilled in event coordination and public speaking.

·        Willingness to learn and engage in new technology and software to enhance communication and outreach capacity.

·        Must be able to travel via personal vehicle to meetings or outreach events within Hopelink’s service area (currently all activities are online due to COVID).

·        Experience with marketing and communications is helpful.

·        Must be able to lift 20 pounds on an occasional basis.

·        Work involves standing, walking, stooping, talking, reaching, sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing, grasping, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, and reaching with hands and arms. 

·        Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. 

·        The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.


 Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements: 

·        Travel as necessary within or outside of King County via automobile.

·        A valid Washington State driver’s license and reliable personal transportation are required (travel expenses are reimbursed).

·        Proof of personal automobile liability insurance.

·        Must pass criminal background check.
