Job Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

Salary Range: $35,000-$55,000

Position Summary

The Development Operations Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the administrative workflow across the organization. Specifically, this person will provide tactical and strategic project-based support to the Partnership Development and People + Operations Teams. The Partnership Development Team is responsible for engaging and maintaining NewRoot’s funding and service relationships, while the People + Operations Team builds and maintains the internal systems necessary for nurturing internal team culture and a well-functioning infrastructure. The Development Operations Coordinator will focus on helping these teams stay organized, impactful, and effectively engaged with partners.  

Hours + Location

This role follows typical Monday through Friday work hours and can be done 95% remotely at this time. We are committed to a long-term flexible, hybrid work model, as well. NewRoot’s West Loop office is where we gather for collaboration and culture-building, and is available for deep focus work when needed.

Essential responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to:

Partnership Growth Operations

  • Assist with the execution of impact growth goals related to earned revenue partners and funders
  • Assist with follow up after new partner intake meetings and current partner requests
  • Support with record-keeping and tracking of new partner opportunities and related efforts
  • Support with project management related to funder reports and proposals
  • Support with donor engagement relations including donor acknowledgement and tracking in Salesforce
  • Participate in marketing collateral content creation; assist with writing, designing, editing, and distribution
  • Support program efforts and events as requested, particularly professional development sessions, Student Days of Action, and the Summer Learning + Action Institute

Organizational Strength + Sustainability

  • Support the Operations Team with research, design, and implementation of strategic efforts that support NewRoot’s team culture
  • Co-lead the Community Care Team
  • Provide administrative support to NewRoot’s executive staff including document design and editing, and assisting in managing internal and external communication
  • Support NewRoot’s HR compliance efforts; participate in annual personnel file and document retention audit processes
  • Support with data collection, entry, and integrity projects as needed
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Other

  • Preserve organization by keeping proprietary information confidential
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations
  • Perform other duties as requested

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of administrative experience working in a nonprofit setting or a related environment
  • Commitment to educational equity and restorative practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to operate with accuracy, agility, confidentiality, and urgency in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to communicate in an effective and compelling manner both orally and in writing
  • Ability to take direction well, manage and prioritize multiple projects, and work successfully individually or with a team
  • Strong research skills and a willingness to figure things out when necessary
  • Strong proficiency in Zoom, Google Suite, and Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Education, Social Work, Youth Development or a related field
  • Experience working with video editing and graphic design software
  • Experience utilizing a relational database for data tracking and analysis
