Events and Communication Associate

New Jersey Community Development Corporation

New Jersey Community Development Corporation is a multi-faceted community development and social service agency providing opportunities to transform lives in Passaic County. The Events and Communications Associate provides support to the Vice President of Development. His/ Her responsibilities will include the execution of external relations events, fundraising events and communications.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • · Managing event calendar and coordinating key external events including:
  • o Developing an event time line and event materials
  • o Booking vendor services, managing vendor contracts and ensuring delivery of service
  • o Coordinating with Graphic Designer on the creation of invitations, programs, signage and other needs as they are presented.
  • · Coordinating the logistics for fundraising events including, but not limited to, the Annual Golf Outing and the Anniversary Dinner
  • · Working with program staff to identify corporate engagement opportunities.
  • · Writing news and blog updates for NJCDC’s website and ensuring that site remains current.
  • · Manage our social media presence.
  • · Managing relationships with videographer and photographers including:
  • o Working with program staff to address their photography needs
  • o Booking services for various events
  • o Managing contracts, ensuring timely payment and receipt of photos/videos
  • o Ensuring that photos and videos are properly archived and made accessible, when appropriate
  • · Writing press releases and advisories. Developing relationships with reporters and media outlets and implementing stewardship.
  • · Managing constant contact database in coordination with Development Associate

Prospective applicants must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with three years of development or comparable experience, some experience in project management; proven success in goal achievement and following through on tasks; demonstrated leadership capacity and sound judgment; strong organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; exceptional writing skills; ability to multi-task and work effectively independently and as a team. Computer skills are also essential with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Competitive salary and benefits package will be provided.
