We are looking for a Bilingual Student Success Coach to provide one-on-one support to prospective and current students at our College Hub. The mission of the College Hub – Austin’s first college support center for low-income, nontraditional students – is to empower those who face barriers to higher education so that all students in Central Texas have the tools to realize their goals, from application to graduation. At the College Hub, students can access a range of wraparound services, including one-on-one college coaching and planning, financial aid application assistance, access to scholarships, and a two-semester Humanities course called Free Minds. This position reports to the Student Success Coordinator.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·        Providing individualized college planning and coaching

  • Helping students and their families complete financial aid applications (FAFSA and TASFA) and all required financial aid forms

·        Helping students complete college applications and admissions paperwork

·        Working with students to find resources to overcome both academic and non-academic barriers

·        Coordinating with other Foundation Communities staff and partner organizations to support students

·        Tracking students’ academic progress and facilitating their use of on-campus and community resources

Required Qualifications

  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with students
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrated experience with students from a low-income and/or disadvantaged educational background
  • Read, write, and speak Spanish
  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience

Position Information: This is a full-time (40 hour/week), year-round, benefits-eligible position consisting of daytime, evening, and Saturday hours.
