Description

Our mission is to support and empower the Arab Immigrant and Arab American community by

providing services to help them adjust to their new home and become active members of society.

Our aim is for families to achieve the ultimate goals of independence, productivity, and stability.


The Programs Associate will utilize the skills and time of volunteers and interns to ensure successful

programmatic delivery across the organization. The Programs Associate will recruit qualified candidates for both youth and adult programming.


The Associate will match qualified volunteers with various elements of AAANY programming, such as

Adult Education, Casework, and Administrative programs. Additionally, the Programs Associate will

spearhead much of our citizenship offerings by securing and training volunteers to teach citizenship

courses and conduct one-on- one tutoring in preparation for the citizenship test. Once these programs

are matched with volunteers, the Associate’s job will be to support volunteers in developing strong

programs (most of which have an existing curriculum to work from) and ensure that the volunteers

are adequately managing their programs. The Associate will collect and review data on the program’s

success and will report this data regularly to leadership. Moreover, he/she will also evaluate the

programs based on this data, and make mid- and full-year recommendations for how to improve

service delivery.

Level of Language Proficiency

A Bachelor’s degree in any field is required, but preferably in education or liberal arts, or a strong

interest in any of the following: education policy, continuing education, or Arab American or Middle

East policy. Priority should be given to candidates who speak Arabic. Ideally candidates will have

experience recruiting and managing volunteers, or conducting target outreach efforts for

engagement. Candidates must be computer literate and have basic experience with Office Suite

products. Knowledge of leveraging social for outreach and candidates should be comfortable leading

trainings and meetings with volunteers.
