JOB TITLE: Field Support & Project Management Consultant

TYPE OF CONTRACT: Junior Consultant

UNIT/DIVISION: OSZAF

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Rome, Italy

DURATION: 4 months

 

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

 

WFP is currently implementing the mobile Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (mVAM) initiative, which involves testing and scaling up remote mobile data collection tools. While aiming to automate and refine traditional mVAM approaches (surveys and monitoring via text messages, live phone calls and interactive voice response), we are also expanding to additional data collection tools, data sources and analyses: We are testing chatbots and ”Free Basics” websites for two-way communication and are expanding towards “big data” sources, including Call Detail Records (CDR) and remote sensing information. Project details can be found on our blog, mvam.org and the mVAM monitoring website. 

OSZAF seeks a junior consultant to: i) support the mVAM Project Lead on overall project management, strategy development and partnerships; ii) support the implementation of the two-way communication strategy until the finalization of the project; and iii) provide visibility for mVAM activities through various communication channels.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Support overall mVAM project management ensuring timely execution of planned activities, field support and quality control of final products

Support planning, management and monitoring of various grants (KOICA, Dutch, Cisco) including financials and donor reporting

Continue the scale-up of mVAM two-way communications tools including low-cost websites and chatbots to other countries (project development, documentation of lessons learned)

Produce communications material (Blog posts, podcasts, videos) and social media content

Support with mVAM trainings in Regional Bureaus and Country Offices, remotely or in person as required;

Perform other duties as assigned

 

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:

 

Successful donor reporting for at least three donors (KOICA, Dutch, Cisco) completed

Regular maintenance of mVAM online course

Roll out two-way communication tools (low-cost websites and chatbots) in up to ten countries

Field support missions undertaken on demand

 

 


Profil:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 Education:

Advanced university degree in the social science 

Experience:

Experience working in multicultural environments and in teams; experience with project management and donor reporting.

Knowledge & Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint. Experience in implementing internet-based two-way communications channels desirable.

Languages:

Excellent spoken and written English skills; knowledge of French is an advantage.
