How You’ll Contribute

The Advancement team cultivates, solicits, and stewards individuals, as well as foundation, government and corporate partners who invest in the Society to drive impact through science, technology, education, exploration, and storytelling. The team collaborates with Society teams – and often works closely with NGP/Disney – to build transformative and impact-driven strategic partnerships. The team also produces global events that deepen connections and leverage the Society’s power to convene, and directs robust annual, major and planned giving programs empowering the Society with a broad base of public support.

National Geographic Society is looking for a creative and consultative marketer with a passion for cultivating and managing strategic partnerships. We are searching for a lead generator to develop and execute a strategic prospecting plan to engage Fortune 500 companies and help cultivate and also grow existing partners. As the Corporate Partnership Development Specialist, you proactively read the trades, use LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other social radar tools to thoughtfully and strategically engage prospective and existing partners in relevant conversation. You take a deep interest in the needs of different brands in each vertical (e.g. Tech, Finance, Consumer Goods, etc.) and use that understanding to then cultivate new leads by ensuring a consistent and relevant communications strategy for each and every prospect tied to their interests.

In addition to enabling the team to engage and secure strategic corporate partnerships that are transformational, not transactional, you would also help with the project management of existing accounts.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Partnership Solutions, the Corporate Partnership Development Specialist role is a unique opportunity to be a part of the world's largest nonprofit scientific and educational organization that explores and protects the planet, working in a fast-paced environment with smart, passionate colleagues who want to make a positive difference in the world.Your Impact
