Project CHANGE Montgomery is the original Montgomery County MD program of AmeriCorps, America's "Domestic Peace Corps." Project CHANGE is seeking members to volunteer for its 2018-19 service year. Places are available from August 2018 to August 2019. Members serve the county's most disadvantaged K-12 students inspiring them to become more engaged learners. In return, members receive training, a living stipend, an educational scholarship, health benefits, professional mentoring, a team of supportive peers, connection to AmeriCorps alumni,preference in hiring for many organizations, and overall a life-changing experience. Positions are full time (1700 hours over 12 months) and Half Time. ( 900 hours over 12 months) Information Sessions are being offered for May-July- See Details Below.


Assignments in Montgomery County's Project CHANGE include the following outstanding nonprofit and educational organizations:



YMCA: Benchmarks A member serves in this after school program that offers academic enrichment and life skills to middle school youth residing in the greater Rosemary Hills Community. the member also helps coordinate a High School Civics Engagement program based out of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School. - (Two full time positions available)


· ClancyWorks Dance Company -Member will deliver training in dance to after school programs working with disadvantaged K-12 kids and contribute to Clancy Dance performances. Member must be an experienced dancer.

Maryland Project Change Olney: Project Change is looking for a full time member to assist the director in all aspects of Service learning across 8 different school sites, recruiting, training, planning and running lunch time and after school clubs focused on Social Justice issues. An excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to see the full range of activities of a non profit serving and inspiring youth. Member needs a car.

 Applicants must be high school graduates and American citizens or permanent residents.
