About the Communications Team

The Communications team works to maximize publicity for our mission through traditional and social media. The team oversees all media relations, social media, videos, advertising, digital marketing, and website management for the organization.

About this Career Opportunity

The Social Media Specialist will create and maintain a strong online presence by implementing brand-focused, online marketing strategies through social media accounts. They will oversee all social media accounts on a day-to-day basis, develop an optimal posting schedule, and seek out new social media avenues and ways to connect with audiences and prospective members. This position works collaboratively with staff across the organization to promote their goals and messages while maintaining brand message and consumer knowledge.

This is a full-time position located at the Physicians Committee’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. (Friendship Heights on Metro’s Red Line)

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a professional with at least three years of experience in social and digital media. Creativity and good writing skills are key to this position. Spanish language proficiency is a plus. If you are a team player who will tackle their work with a sense of urgency and with persistence and are passionate about the Physicians Committee's mission to advance the field of plant-based nutrition and promote alternatives to the use of animals in research, education and testing, we'd like to hear from you.
