Background and Description

ACT is the premier Transportation Demand Management (TDM) organization in the United States, focused on improving the lives of commuters, the livability of communities, and the economic growth of businesses through the advancement of transportation options that improve mobility and benefits the environment. This position will coordinate, execute, and monitor ACT’s membership and communications efforts. Duties will focus on providing a positive experience for members and high-quality communications. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with engaging members and presenting a positive and energetic front to the organization. The candidate should have excellent writing skills and experience with social media, website management, and member relations. The candidate must enjoy communicating with members across the country and approach the job with enthusiasm, be well organized, and capable of working independently. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ACT’s online membership database and related record keeping
  • Lead efforts to ensure membership renewals and new member registrations
  • Respond to member inquiries and assist members with their participation in ACT
  • Work with Membership Committee to develop and coordinate campaigns to attract new members, and explore, design, and launch additional member services and benefits
  • Conduct and analyze member surveys to enhance member value and strengthen the organization
  • Work with ACT chapter and council leadership to ensure member engagement
  • Coordinate the publication and content of ACT’s monthly e-newsletter and monthly policy newsletter
  • Coordinate and execute e-mail campaigns to promote ACT programs and events
  • Develop collateral for ACT programs and membership
  • Curate and post content to ACT’s social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Manage and maintain content on the ACT website
  • Maintain and edit images and graphics for use in all ACT communications
  • Analyze and report metrics related to membership and communications
  • Assist in the management of ACT Board, Councils and Chapters
  • Participate in committee, council, and chapter meetings as necessary
  • Assist with onsite management of ACT’s major events (travel required)
  • Assist the Executive Director in other duties as assigned


  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience working with common website programs, email software, and graphics software
  • Experience working with association management software a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing social media accounts
  • Ability to work well with members and volunteers
  • Self-motivation and initiative to work independently
  • Interest and ability to travel 3-4 times per year
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
