Payroll Specialist


About this position:

This is a full-time position based in Seattle, WA.


The Payroll Specialist manages and performs payroll bi-weekly payroll processing

 

The role ensures data integrity and compliance with HR policies, procedures and state and federal law.

 

Develops and provides reports to internal and external customers.

 

Educates and trains managers on payroll and timekeeping procedures and systems.

 

Coordinates retirement plan changes and health savings account transfers.

 

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related field, or equivalent work experience.    

 

Certified Payroll Professional, CPP preferred. 

 

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience processing payroll, or working as part of a payroll/accounting team.  


Experience utilizing with a Payroll system, Human Resources Information System, (HRIS) or Human Capital Management system, (HCMS) required. Ceridian experience preferred. 


Experience configuring systems preferred. 

 

Knowledge of laws related to payroll, taxes and human resources.

 

Basic knowledge of accounting practices and General Ledger systems preferred

 

Experience in a union environment preferred.
