Overview of Position Objectives :

The Outreach and Family Engagement Administrator will increase community engagement in select communities and increase the accessibility of HOPES programs to children through stronger communication with families. The position will provide leadership in the areas of community relationship building and resource development, CPS STLS (Students in Temporary Living Situations) partnership-building, homeless awareness events, and parent programming. The position will plan and manage an annual outreach calendar of events, partner with STLS Coordinators at target CPS schools, and plan and execute the HOPES parent program. The Outreach and Family Engagement Coordinator will work closely with HOPES staff particularly the Senior Program Manager and Executive Director to increase community awareness, maintain and foster partnerships, and provide direct services to families residing in shelters. The Outreach and Family Engagement Administrator will supervise an Outreach VISTA, a small group of AmeriCorps members, and social work interns assigned to the HOPES Parent Program.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the HOPES leadership team and help develop organizational strategy and goals
  • Partner with STLS Coordinators to provide referrals and resources to students and families
  • Plan and build partnerships for homeless awareness events
  • Curate an annual outreach events calendar, register for events, assign volunteers to attend and follow up
  • Parent program scheduling, planning, and delivery
  • Manage social work interns on parent program delivery
  • Conduct outreach at shelters to promote after school program participation and attendance
  • Visit shelter(s) each week to participate in the program

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Relationship building skills Knowledge of community resources
  • Experience with Google Drive

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Leadership skills/self-starter
  • Highly organized
  • Event planning experience
  • Spanish speaking/bilingual
  • Experience working with homeless shelters and/or individuals experiencing homelessness
