The National Clearinghouse on Abuse in Later Life (NCALL) is a project of End Domestic Abuse Wisconsin. NCALL is committed to creating a world that respects the dignity of older adults and enhances the safety and quality of life of older victims and survivors of abuse. 

Under the supervision of the NCALL Director, the Abuse in Later Life (ALL) Program Coordinator is a full-time exempt position. This position is responsible for nationwide leadership and overall coordination of training and technical assistance activities for the Office on Violence Against Women’s (OVW) Abuse in Later Life (ALL) Grant Program recipients. This position will manage the NCALL Training and Technical Assistance Plan, provide training and technical assistance to OVW grantees and other entities in the abuse in later life field, and will plan and carry out special projects as assigned. National travel is required.  

Primary responsibilities

 

 1. Assist in the development and coordinate the implementation of the training and technical assistance plan for OVW grantees and potential grantees in order to improve system responses, practices, policies and services to victims of abuse in later life. 

  • In collaboration with the NCALL Director and the Office on Violence Against Women, develop and oversee the NCALL OVW Abuse in Later Life project work plan. 
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and other supports to OVW grantees by planning and facilitating grantee meetings and trainings. 
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and consultation on abuse in later life to professionals, potential grantees, and others working in the criminal and civil justice systems, social services, victim advocacy organizations, and others who participate in a collaborative response to older victims, including survivors from marginalized communities.  
  • Create and maintain resources and training materials and facilitate trainings for OVW grantees on working collaboratively to address abuse in later life and coordinated community response.   
  • Create written materials including articles, technical assistance packets, blogs, information sheets, and other written content for publication for various professionals on working with older victims and survivors, including survivors from marginalized communities, as requested or approved by the NCALL Director. 
  • Lead or support ongoing and special NCALL project work, as requested by the NCALL Director or End Abuse Executive Director.   
  • Work collaboratively with the NCALL team to support the mission and vision of NCALL and End Abuse. 

2. Expand substantive efforts and national collaborations to advance NCALL’s mission. 

  • Serve as the NCALL liaison to national organizations, collaboratives, other work groups, and on national policy initiatives, as requested by the NCALL Director. 
  • Coordinate the process of engaging, recruiting, and supervising subject matter expert consultants to enhance equitable outcomes for older survivors; oversee administrative aspects of consultant engagement, including procurement, contracts, and invoices. 
  • Provide leadership and support of other initiatives, as requested by the NCALL Director.  

3. Complete administrative functions. 

  • Complete and submit technical assistance data, timesheets, expense reports, and other assigned work-related documents accurately and in a timely fashion. 
  • Monitor grant program budgets and assist with financial and resource management, as requested by the NCALL Director. 
  • With the NCALL Director, ensure that funding special conditions are met and that high quality deliverables are completed on time. 
  • Complete additional administrative tasks as requested by the NCALL Director or End Abuse Executive Director.  

4. Collaborate with NCALL and End Abuse colleagues and attend required staff meetings. 

  • Attend required NCALL and End Abuse staff meetings and participate in internal committees or work groups, as assigned by the NCALL Director. 
  • Participate in End Abuse activities such as campaigns, awareness activities, training, and other events as funding and scheduling permits. This could include, but is not limited to, committee or workgroup participation, sharing information with networks, staffing events, assisting in planning or other logistics, and outreach to supporters and/or donors as needed. 

 

5. Other duties as assigned by the NCALL Director and/or the End Abuse Executive Director. 

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience in program coordination in domestic and sexual assault and/or elder abuse fields. 
  • Knowledge of and direct practice experience with identifying, reaching and effectively serving victims of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking, involving victims who are 50 years of age or older.   
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects; develop project plans and timelines, monitor progress of projects; and evaluate project effectiveness.  
  • Demonstrated ability to incorporate an understanding of the specific issues and dynamics related to services and systems’ responses for older survivors from historically and currently underserved communities, particularly Black, Indigenous, and Latinx groups, and individuals with disabilities.  
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and access to a safe reliable private vehicle. 
  • A minimum of 1 year experience working in collaboration with community or system partners to address the unique needs of abuse in later life victims.  
  • Ability to manage complex situations while centering the needs of older victims, using a collaborative lens and being flexible and adaptable.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a variety of internal and external audiences. 
  • Experience assessing training needs and developing effective learning objectives to meet those needs.  
  • Experience developing and delivering training content to multidisciplinary audiences from diverse backgrounds and learning styles. 
  • Experience developing and delivering training for both in-person and virtual instruction.  
  • Experience providing consultation and/or technical assistance for services and system improvement purposes. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams), and the ability to effectively use Zoom and other virtual meeting and training platforms. 
  • Experience with procurement, contracts, and invoice processing preferred.
