About this Job
Activist in Residence ‘aka’ AIR is a new program of the Quixote Center that supports innovative, social justice community-oriented work. During the duration of the 9-month program, we aim to work with creative, committed and energetic individuals to assist in their development and execution of a unique program that challenges a specific dimension of injustice within the church and/or society at large. We encourage creativity in your proposal and are open to a variety of project ideas! However, projects must be based in the metropolitan area of Washington, DC or nearby states such as West Virginia, Delaware, or Pennsylvania.
Along with managing their own project, the selected resident will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Quixote Center. The resident will receive a modest monthly stipend for living expenses during the duration of the program.

About Quixote Center
The Quixote Center is a progressive faith-based, social justice organization founded in 1976. We stand in solidarity and friendship with those who seek to improve the lives of the very poor, and provide guidance, technical assistance, and funding to support their work and allow their movements and programs to mature and take hold. We currently have two international programs that take place in Haiti (Haiti Reborn) and Nicaragua (Quest for Peace) and our domestic program Catholic Speaks Out, which aims to organize Catholic voices by articulating progressive policy positions relevant to current discussions of social issues.
