Established by Congress in 1974, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) is the country’s single largest funder of civil legal aid for low-income Americans. LSC currently funds 132 independent nonprofit legal aid organizations with more than 800 offices throughout the nation. LSC’s mission is to promote equal access to justice and provide grants for high-quality civil legal assistance to low-income Americans.
Under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Program Performance (OPP), or his or her designee, the Basic Field Grant Program Coordinator assists with the coordination and administration of Legal Services Corporation’s (LSC) Basic Field Grant Program and all aspects of grant application reviews, funding recommendations, grant awards, and grant program oversight. Responsibilities include coordinating and project managing the activities of the assigned regional team and Director in conducting grantmaking and grantee-oversight; providing technical assistance to grantees; coordinating informational webinars; arranging events and meetings; organizing and analyzing data; conducting research; and general administrative functions. The Basic Field Grant Program Coordinator collaborates closely with the OPP Director, Deputy Directors, Basic Field Program Counsel, and Basic Field Grant and Loan Repayment Assistance Program Manager. This position is included in a collective bargaining unit represented by the International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers, Local 135. The position is located in Washington, DC, but will be performed remotely until the pandemic subsides. LSC is filling three vacancies for this position.

A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of one to two years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience totaling a minimum of four years of related experience. Knowledge of and interest in legal services; proven abilities in analytical, database, and reporting skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with Box, Smartsheet, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams preferred. Solid analytical and research skills, including computer-based/online research resources.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary Range: $65,663 - $73,958
LSC has a competitive market-based salary structure that establishes a specific salary range for this position. The salary range has eight pay levels separated by seven steps. A new employee will be hired at Step 1 and must wait two years to advance to each of the next three steps (Steps 2 through 4), and one year to advance to each of the next four steps (Steps 5 through 8).
