The Brigid Alliance seeks to add a passionate, diligent, and collaborative Client Services Coordinator to its remote team to help the organization enter its next phase of growth, beckoned by an increasing need for travel support among abortion seekers in the US. 


About: 

The Brigid Alliance (501c3) is a nation-wide practical support organization that provides client centered support to individuals who must travel long distances for later abortion care, and who cannot afford to do so. We customize and fund itineraries that include transportation, lodging, connections to volunteers, meals, childcare reimbursement; and support our clients by staying in touch with them throughout their travels. We work in partnership with independent and nationally affiliated clinics, abortion funds, local and regional practical support organizations. 


Since launching in August of 2018, we have assisted almost 1,450 individuals and families from 45 states. We are a crucial part of the reproductive health ecosystem connecting the geographic and metaphorical dots between policy, providers, practice, and patient. By alleviating the logistical barriers and financial obstacles of access to care, we are working to ensure that everyone has access to abortion care, no matter where they live.


Responsibilities:

The Client Services Coordinators are part of a remote-based team that reports to the Director of Client Services. The team works closely to plan case management and coordinate communication directly with clients, clinics, abortion funds, and other practical support organizations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Daily screening of referrals for potential clients
  • Conducting over-the-phone intake with potential clients to assess needs
  • Developing relationships with clients that allow for open communication
  • Advocating on behalf of clients to meet their needs
  • Coordinating logistics with clients, partner organizations, and vendors
  • Booking travel, housing, and assessing other travel-related costs on behalf of clients
  • Maintaining regular communication with all relevant parties (including funding agencies and other practical support organizations)
  • Working with staff to ensure clear communication about ongoing client cases
  • Tracking all client work including case notes, expenditures, and any relevant paperwork
  • Referring to the Director of Client Services appropriately for support 
  • Representative of the organizational mission and values


Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Committed to abortion access and reproductive justice
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, and able to work independently and collaboratively on a small team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and orientation to customer service
  • Keen attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple and sometimes urgent tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort with software usage including: CRM database, Google Drive/Air Table
  • Open to giving and receiving feedback and committed to practicing this regularly
  • Positive attitude, open to supporting a growing remote culture 
  • Respectful of confidentiality and privacy, strives to provide the best service possible in a non-judgemental and client centered manner
  • Ability to work remotely


Desired:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Education or professional/volunteer experience relevant to social work, reproductive health, public health, disability justice, or social justice
  • Education or professional/volunteer experience relevant to case management, crisis intervention, mutual aid, or direct services
  • Knowledge of legislative, political, and legal landscape and issues regarding abortion access


Location and Hours: 

The Brigid Alliance is a New York-originated organization with a nationwide remote team. All individuals legally authorized to work in the US are invited to apply, regardless of geographic location. While we will consider applicants from anywhere in the country, please note that this is a permanent full-time Saturday-Wednesday remote position that will follow 10 AM - 6 PM PST / 1 PM - 9 PM EST working hours.
