PeerForward is seeking an experienced Salesforce Administrator to manage and support the ongoing development of our deployment and ensure that we fully leverage its usage to enable business processes across the organization. We currently use Salesforce, often in combination with other applications such as Mailchimp and Gravity Forms, as well as a variety of Salesforce Apps, to support critical business processes in partnership sales, development, volunteer and event management, marketing/ communications, and operational performance management.  

The Salesforce Administrator will be responsible for developing business processes that leverage Salesforce and appropriately integrate it within our larger infrastructure and with other business systems.  The role will manage the governance, development, configuration, maintenance, and support of Salesforce and other business applications. 

This position will be responsible for project management throughout the SDLC for Salesforce as well as other business systems; leading business process review and improvement initiatives and ensuring the appropriate integration of technology in such processes; developing user and technical documentation; and providing end-user training and support.



  • Manage the SDLC for all business application development efforts
  • Work with upper management to identify business process needs and enhancements, and develop short-and long-range planning for various business applications
  • Provide governance structure and employ best practices to ensure business system requests are appropriately vetted, analyzed, coordinated, prioritized, tested, and deployed
  • Provide daily administration and support of PeerForward’s Salesforce database including but not limited to:
  • Management of user setup including the assignment and creation of profiles, roles, and permission sets
  • Customization of objects, fields, record types, and page layouts, and validations 
  • Creation and management of workflow rules, data validations, and triggers
  • Data maintenance including data imports/exports, updating outdated information, and merging duplicate records
  • Development and ongoing maintenance of standard, ad-hoc, customized reports and dashboards
  • Management of and App updates (including regular system audits to ensure currency)
  • Day-to-day technical support
  • Develop and deliver end-user training; and communicate technology solutions to non-technical users


  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of experience as a administrator
  • Admin certified
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity
  • Strong understanding of best practices and functionality
  • Strong data management abilities
  • Proven project management experience with a documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
  • A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex business requirements
  • Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally business and technology processes to a non-technical audience


Additional Experience Preferred

  • Experience in a nonprofit environment
  • Experience with the Salesforce Non-Profit Starter Pack data architectures highly desirable
  • Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Developer certifications a plus
  • Experience with Visualforce programming and familiarity with Apex, JavaScript, or other technologies to build customized solutions to support business requirements a plus

  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on and all upstream and downstream applications, systems and processes
