The Casita Coalition is a statewide, one-stop, comprehensive resource for Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) practitioners, professionals, homeowners, and policymakers as they navigate the process of adding small housing to existing communities. The organization was founded in late 2019 and is awaiting approval of 501(c)3 non-profit status.  Currently, the organization has approximately three years of funding secured and has quickly created a reputation for collaboration and innovation statewide.

The Casita Coalition seeks to continue to build on its progress and ensure equal access to the benefits of ADUs regardless of race or income by providing in-depth, free access to information about law changes, financing, and process.  Many of the Casita Coalition’s board and members played an instrumental role in designing recent ADU legislation. In the mid to long term, the Casita Coalition will continue to promote small homes statewide to address the housing crisis.

The Executive Assistant is a newly created role and will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors’ Executive Committee to ensure the implementation of the organization’s strategic priorities.  The role will include the expansion and retention of paying members and donors while identifying opportunities to add value to membership and increase the organization's visibility through online and in-person activities. The Executive Assistant will also effectively communicate the vision and mission of the organization to current and prospective members and assist in managing complex interrelationships.  They may interface with the Board of Directors, Partners and demonstrate some knowledge of ADU policies, regulations, and best practices statewide. Current knowledge of ADU policies and regulations is desired but not required.

The Executive Assistant will report to the Executive Director and will work remotely in the execution of our mission.  This role will require occasional evening and weekend work to support organization-wide events with advance notice.
