The Finance and Operations Assistant reports to the Finance and Operations Director and is responsible for the following:

• Support the accomplishment of organizational and project team goals

• Review, record, and process organizational payables and receivables

• Work w/NCCEH partner organizations around the state to ensure these organizations’ requests for reimbursement are complete, timely, and accurate

• Assist with the monthly and annual accounting close-out processes

• Assist with the annual independent financial statement audit and Form 990 processes

• Support required reporting and compliance activities with NCCEH funding sources

• Review and assess contracts with vendors and funding/grant agreements with organizational partners

• Perform activities in support of NCCEH’s human resource and information technology functions

• Assist with organizational administrative and operational activities, particularly the onboarding of new colleagues and coordinating repairs/maintenance of NCCEH’s office facility

• Investigate financial and budgetary scenarios and questions as they arise

• Serve as a trusted finance resource for all NCCEH stakeholders – colleagues, Board members, and more

• Assist in the cultivation of relationships and coalition building with NCCEH partners

Essential Knowledge

• Combination of educational background and/or meaningful experience in accounting, finance, and budgeting

• Experience working in (or with) a direct service organization or local government agency responsible for administering a social service program is helpful, though not required

• Experience working with accounting/finance software, particularly QuickBooks Online Pro

• Demonstrated organizational skills to be able to manage several activities at one time

• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office, Google Suite, and Project Management software
