Title: Data Impact Manager Reports to: Managing Director, Higher Expectations for Racine County

About You: You are a professional with a commitment to equity and an understanding of how data and stories can best inform decision-making. You are curious and passionate about learning new ideas and skills, and you are confident in your ability to analyze large amounts of information and present it in a way that makes it accessible to others. You have experience collaborating and coaching others in learning challenging skills. You understand the importance of individual stories and experiences in contextualizing big-picture quantitative data. Either through your personal or professional experiences, you have developed an understanding of how systems and local institutions impact the lives of families.


Key Responsibilities:


Inform focus on racial equity by collaborating with partners to create data indicators that track how equitable our local policies, practices, and resources are for residents;                                                                                                                                                           

  • Recommend and pursue data research projects that will help drive equitable decisions aligned with our organizational goals

Help partners use their outcomes and process data to set goals;

  • Support partners who are trying to answer questions with data in order to drive their decisions; identify publicly available data sets or institutional data that can help answer questions.
  • Coach local organizations and partners on processes for gathering and reporting data;

Visualize and analyze complex data sets and identify trends and themes within local data sets using platforms including Tableau, Excel, R, or others;                                                                                                                                                                                                   

  •  Use Tableau to maintain and update community online dashboards that share public data on progress and disparities in education, workforce, and related sectors; 
  •  Learn new technologies as needed to improve ability to collect, clean, visualize, analyze, and tell compelling stories with data and community voice;

 

Collaborate in creating presentations, communications, and materials that make data accessible and actionable;                                     

  •  Lead or advise data collection and narrative summaries for Higher Expectations reports, grant activities, etc., as needed;                                   
  • Document processes, develop training materials, and support others in using technology to clean, analyze, and visualize data.


Preferred Skills

  • Ability to analyze data, visualize data, and distill findings;
  • Proficient to Advanced in Excel;
  • Proficient in Tableau & Tableau Prep or other data software.

  • Planning & Organizing – Project management and organizational skills, ability to create processes and systems, manage a large volume of details and work independently.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration – Ability to develop and cultivate relationships with a variety of audiences and stakeholders.

Salary

$58,000 - $63,000
