Assistant Camp Director

Camp Dogwood Summer Academy is a summer residential camp located in Madison, VA, and accredited by the American Camp Association.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Camp Director for our 2021 camp season. The Assistant Camp Director assists in leading all aspects of camp operations. The Assistant Camp Director will be responsible for the supervision and evaluation of a team of counselors/instructors in the delivery of camp programs. The Assistant Camp Director also ensures that all procedures and guidelines for camp safety and security are implemented and followed by campers and staff. The Assistant Camp Director coordinates field trips and special events and other tasks assigned by the Director of Summer Programs. The Assistant Camp Director assumes camp management responsibilities when the Director of Summer Programs is indisposed.

Applicants must be at least 25 years of age, with previous experience in the administration and delivery of residential camp programs and/or outdoor education programs. Applicants must be on site from June 3 – August 15, 2021. Compensation includes salary starting at $6,000, meals, and lodging for 10 weeks. Applicants without prior residential camp/outdoor education experience will not be considered.
