Description

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) seeks an dynamic Senior Programs Associate to oversee their array of educational programs. HFH operates three afterschool programs, four early education programs and a crisis nursery. Ideally, this individual has experience overseeing education programming, building teams, and implementing policies.

 

 

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5-10 years experience working in the field of education. Preferably in early education or afterschool programs.
  • Experience with program management and oversight.
  • Experience working and building relationships between staff to create a team environment.
  • A passion for the education field with emphasis on youth development and empowerment.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in a related field.

 

 

Specific Duties:

  • Tracks new developments, changes and trends in early education and afterschool by reading key reports, attending events and working with City agencies.
  • Creates and advances internal policies and programs that support children’s education and youth development. 
  • Coordinates with our field staff to ensure adherence to DYCD, ACS, DOE, DOHMH, and DHS regulations are being followed and implemented.
  • Engages with outside vendors and experts, including preparation of events, trainings, and professional development of staff.
  • Supervising and Mentoring a small team at our Central Office and providing direction and advisement to our field staff in the early education and afterschool programs.
