We encourage you to apply to become an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Turning the Page, a dynamic organization providing parents in Chicago public schools with critical skills and educational resources to become more active and effective participants in their children’s education. As we return to in-person programming, Turning the Page’s role in supporting at-home learning, strong parent-teacher relationships, and parent leadership is more important than ever. Our VISTA members this coming year will play an integral role in ensuring that Turning the Page has the capacity to continue to provide this critical service to parents and families in Chicago as they transition back to school and/or continue remote learning.
AmeriCorps*VISTA members at TTP participate in activities across TTP and receive valuable experience learning how nonprofits work. Their year of service will provide VISTA members with new skill-sets leading to a wide variety of career choices. TTP VISTA members have gone on to teach, join the staff of varied non-profits, entered graduate programs, and more.
As Turning the Page’s Development Associate VISTA you will be specifically responsible for supporting TTP’s family engagement programs by building TTP’s capacity around development, operations, and social media, and by enhancing and implementing our Carpe Librum used bookstore fundraising efforts.
This job is an AmeriCorps VISTA role, a year-long commitment to serving the community and helping to end poverty. In addition to the stipend and benefits provided by AmeriCorps, TTP provides CTA and partial housing stipends, as well as significant professional development opportunities and support.
