Description

The office administrator provides administrative and secretarial services to a progressive and socially engaged congregation and its professional church staff, including the Pastor, Minister of Music, and Youth Director, and to the church council. The Office Administrator is to be cordial and professional in all interactions, skilled with using the Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher, experienced with website posting, and trustworthy of the confidential nature of the position. Experience and/or knowledge of church context a plus. Though the Office Administrator is viewed as an assistant to the Pastor, he/she is also to help other professional church staff members as time allows. This position averages 12 hours per week. Work days are typically: Tues, Wed, Thurs from 9am to 1pm, but there is room for flexibility.

6.     Ability to organize, communicate and administrate information

7.     Ability to follow through with details

8.     Manage multiple tasks while maintaining flexibility

9.     Maintain good communication with other members of the professional staff

10.  Self monitoring of work

11.  Utilize volunteers from the church for support tasks of the position

12.  Assist Pastor in helping community members who come to Peace looking for assistance
