Overview: 

The New Programs Manager will join a team of 60 purpose-driven staff members in a friendly, focused, fast-paced, entrepreneurial office environment. The National Society of Leadership and Success is the largest collegiate leadership honor society in the United States, with over 600 chapters and more than three-quarters of a million members, who collectively have completed over 282,000 hours of community service.


Under the supervision of the New Programs / Strategic Initiatives Director, the New Programs Manager is chiefly responsible for the support of new programs and new initiatives by providing key support and management for various new programs. The New Programs Manager will support the integration of new programs into other divisions and provide leadership and support towards high quality development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment within the programs.

The New Programs Manager will also support the Director in RE&D for new innovation of programs and supporting the creation and implementation of our curriculum, instructional integration, and evaluation for NSLS programs. In 2018-19, this chiefly requires supporting the oversight of curriculum development, including designing and updating program curriculum, facilitating workshops and webinars, and supporting comprehensive evaluation of online and live programs for youth.

 

Responsibilities of the New Programs Manager may include (but are not limited to):

Program Development & Management (50%)

  • Develop strategic plans for creative new initiatives to help achieve overall company goals and spearhead the implementation of new programs and initiatives;
  • Responsible for full project life-cycle from research to execution (both macro and micro) on various projects or initiatives;
  • Create and support the management for growth of program participants of programs;
  • Train, delegate, monitor and motivate team members effectively to maximize implementation and productivity of new programs or initiatives;
  • Support the team in meeting marketing and financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions as it pertains to programmatic execution;
  • Ensure high level of quality assurance and standards of quality within each new initiative or program
  • Respond to high level educator and student needs;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners that enhance each program or new initiative;
  • Mentor implementation team members and oversee comprehensive learning and development plans for team.

Education Programming (Curriculum, Instruction, Learning and Assessment) (25%)

  • Support the development and updating of program curriculum;
  • Support the design and facilitation of program content (accreditation and more broadly as needed);
  • Manage research around emerging educational priorities and trends related to the programs;
  • Manage research and development for new theme-related materials;
  • Work with the teams to execute program enhancements and program development initiatives nationally and internationally;
  • Development of content and structure for programs, including researching and writing educational materials and designing activities for programs;
  • Attend and assist in facilitation of local workshops and orientations;
  • Support the development of assessment methodology and instruments for programs; support broader articulation of our organizational impact;
  • Standardize and significantly expand NSLS’ program capabilities nationally, online and regionally;
  • Update and maintain program resources.

Research/Data/Evaluation/Analysis (10%)

  • Provide Manager support for teams regarding research and data collection for all programs and new initiatives;
  • Support the collection, analysis and synthesis of program evaluation results as needed;
  • Provide Manager support for teams regarding evaluation and assessment, including the articulation of impact for broader reporting and circulation;
  • Survey administration and data collection with constituents for use in program evaluation;
  • Compile and analyze data for producing annual year-end programming reports.

Communications & Marketing (10%)

  • Coordinate and communicate program outcomes of data team as needed, to ensure consistent and accurate grant reporting and development profiles;
  • Guide and support development of all marketing and communication efforts which enhance visibility and participation in NSLS programs and team events;
  • Represent NSLS at conferences and community events as needed, some of these occurring on evenings and weekends.

Recruitment/ Outreach/Account Management Support: (5%)

  • Support research and design of outreach strategy for accreditation and other special programs, projects, or initiatives as needed;
  • Build and maintain relationships with existing and potential constituents for all programs;
  • Support the design and implementation of the constituent management for programs;
  • Build tools that help our Marketing team successfully market and engage our clients to drive higher activation rates, mobile downloads, and data collection;
  • Support the team’s goal of building scalable, repeatable processes to distribute best practices to schools to let them act on key initiatives to help drive key metrics;
  • Ensure our continued success in our market by helping to build a scalable sales process for future years;
  • Support the team efforts to build a scalable and effective Account Management team that continues to leverage strategic automation, self-service and training to help our users be self-sufficient, and strategically adds value to the business and to the schools we partner with.

Team work:

  • Mentor and provide leadership for other team members, as it pertains to programmatic elements;
  • Train and work together with others on systems for communication and file documentation;
  • Manage others indirectly through open exchanges, assisting other team members as needed, and by partnering with finance, operations, marketing, and account management teams; 
  • Manage and participate in team meetings, staff meetings, organization events and other duties as necessary.

Administrative:

  • Create, organize and maintain administrative files and databases, including Salesforce entry and maintenance or other project management tools;
  • Train staff on program and administrative duties and database management;
  • Support other teams with facilitation and learning activities.


Requirements/Experience Required:

Education Programming:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s in Education preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with education companies or innovative classroom experience (K-12 or Higher Education)

Project Management; Program Development & Management:

  • Ability to thrive in a self-starter environment and history of success in meeting deadlines
  • Data-driven mindset that can translate data into exciting communications initiatives
  • Desire to juggle multiple projects at the same time
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to think strategically
