The Compliance Operations Specialist will report to the Manager of Government and Legal Affairs (MGLA) and is responsible for aspects of the host family screening process in accordance with AFS-USA’s acceptance criteria, AFS International standards and US Department of State Exchange Visitor regulations, as well as CSIET Standards to ensure complete and appropriate screening of host families. The Program Operations Specialist will track and communicate discrepancies to other AFS staff and follow up on missing items as needed and perform other duties as assigned. They will also serve as an Alternate Responsible Officer and support the work of the MGLA related to the Annual CSIET Audit and Biennial US Department of State Management review, and reporting to the US Department of State as per J-1 visa regulations.
Evening, weekend, and seasonally variable work hours should be expected. Opportunities for scheduling time off during peak season (June-August) are limited.
