The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC), the most established, expert, largest and most comprehensive young people’s health centers in the U.S., is expanding its services locally and its influence strategy nationally as part of an ambitious strategic plan. MSAHC has a very successful record of fundraising through philanthropy, but at this time we want to expand our grant base to support service innovation and demonstration projects. We seek an experienced grant writer to identify new funding opportunities, apply for new grants, and report on and monitor a portfolio of service grants, both governmental and private. The candidate should demonstrate experience in successfully applying to governmental grantors at the federal and state levels, national institutes, foundations and corporations, for grants related to service innovation, demonstration projects, evaluation, and cost benefit studies.
Find Funding Opportunities: Initiate search for new grants/awards based on defined MSAHC priorities and knowledge of MSAHC direction and programs; provide in-depth foundation/corporate and governmental research. Write and submit letters of intent and fundraising proposals to governmental grantors, national institutes, foundations and corporations.
New Grant Applications and Renewals: Manage applications for new grants and awards to encourage timely review of new funding opportunities and to ensure that complete, high quality applications are submitted by MSAHC. Manage the renewal and re-application process for existing grants to ensure continuing funding.
Grant Monitoring and Reporting: Manage grant reporting requirements for MSAHC grants to ensure timely compliance with contract requirements. This position is not focused on managing budgets or grant expenditures. Maintain a complete and thorough understanding of reports required for each grant/fund, coordinate and/or prepare MSAHC based grant/fund report writing in collaboration with MSAHC program heads. She/he will serve as the liaison to the Mount Sinai Grants and Contracts Office and Institutional Review Board (IRB) and will coordinate the submission of IRB applications.
