Job Summary


The Sr. Manager, Strategic Initiatives will work closely with our Deputy Executive Director, Programs to manage FLC’s strategic programming initiatives. This role will work to develop (or relaunch), plan, and execute Film at Lincoln Center program initiatives including but not limited to: The New York Film Festival, the Film at Lincoln Center Artist, Critics, and Industry Academy programs supporting women and people of color at an early stage of their careers, FLC’s Artist Alumni, in addition to the FLC Education program and educational screenings, and Film Comment, as well as Special Events Programming. 


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with Deputy Executive Director on overall strategy and planning for programs and initiatives, and collaborate with Program Managers on the following: 
  • Artist, Critics, and Industry Academies
  • Education program and screenings
  • Film Comment magazine business and publishing strategy
  • Attend internal and external meetings on behalf of the Programs Dept. and DD with authority to speak on behalf of the department 
  • Proactively manage projects described above
  • Develop and execute filmmakers initiatives such as FLC Academies

and Education including creating budgets, proposals, timelines, and hiring staff 

  • Assist with the planning, execution, and post-assessment of the New York Film Festival 
  • Assist Philanthropy & Partnership team to conceive fundraising, sponsorship, and other funding opportunities for FLC Programs
  • Work with Special Events to initiate and execute special programs and one-off events
  • Liaise with other FLC Departments as needed
  • Assist in preparing for Board related activities such as Board meetings and presentations
  • Maintain relationships with other film organizations, NYC art institutions, government agencies, and regional art house theaters
  • Actively keep abreast of trends in the arts, industry, and festival space, and bring a spirit of innovation, entrepreneurialism, and curiosity




Qualifications & Skills


  • 5 +  years of comparable experience
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Experience in Project Management, Budgeting and Proposal Writing
  • Art,  festival, and film industry experience a plus  
  • Experience supervising staff and working with film artists
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Capacity to work independently,  self-starter, with high attention to detail, and the ability to triage tasks according to the urgency
